Aurangabad, April 9:

A couple belonging to the same community decided to flee the house and marry as their marriage was being opposed by both families. However, Karmad police came to their rescue and helped the couple tie the nuptial knot. The police also summoned the parents and counselled them.

A missing complaint about the girl was filed at the Karmad police on April 6. PI Santosh Khetmalas started searching for the girl. It was learned that she was in love with Ramesh (name changed) from Palshi and both of them have run away with the intention of getting married. Khetmalas immediately contacted the boy's brother-in-law and inquired about the girl who agreed that they were together. The parents, who initially protested, approved the marriage after police counselled them. According to the police, the marriage was solemnized at the house of the boy's brother-in-law in Palashi on Wednesday. Parents of the girl were present on the occasion. Superintendent of police Mokshada Patil praised the efforts of PI Khetmalas and official Anand Ghateshwar and announced an award.
