Aurangabad, July 15:

The officials of the Department of Land Records have started the measurement of additional land required for the Wildlife Safari Park today. Two days ago, the chief minister had a meeting in Mumbai with the public representatives and bureaucrats of Aurangabad and directed them to develop the park of international standard at Mitmita and submit a detailed project mentioning the requirement of additional land for the purpose to the state government, on priority.

It may be noted that the state government through the divisional administration has handed over 100 acres of land, from Gut Number 307, at Mitmita to AMC for the Park. However, the AMC requires an additional land of 58 hectares (145 acres) to expand the venue. Hence the land record officials started the measurement with the AMC officials. They measured 17 hectares from Gut Number 307 and 41 hectares from Gut Number 41. The additional land will help to provide adequate space for the wildlife animals (to develop their natural habitat), for visitors to leisure around while in the park, construct staff quarters, etc.

The measurement report along with the final map will be submitted to the state government through the district collector. The collectorate will prepare the land acquisition proposal and sent it for approval. It may be noted that the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) had taken possession of old land (100 acres) and through a contractor had started leveling of the ground, construction of compound wall upon it, etc.
