Aurangabad, Nov 18:

District collector Sunil Chavan issued orders to help schools in cleaning, spraying disinfectant before reopening the schools in the district.

It may be noted that the State Government issued directives for reopening the schools of standard 9th to 12 from November 23.

The Education Department released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for reopening the schools. The SOP states about the responsibilities of local administration to provide essentials to the schools for cleaning and disinfecting the premises.

Sunil Chavan issued the orders on Wednesday for local administration’s assistance in reopening the schools. In the rural area, Gram Panchayat would arrange cleaning, spraying disinfectant in the schools, electricity, water and providing thermal gun and pulse oxymeter.

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will have to perform these responsibilities in city areas schools. District Health Officer will have to make arrangement for RTPCR test of education officer, bloc education officer and teachers of classes 9th to 12th at Government centre through Zilla Parishad free of cost. The Corporation has responsibility for COVID test of city schools teachers.
