Aurangabad, Feb 2:

The two members' unopposed victory on the Management Council (MC) of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) is sure as only one nomination is declared valid in each group.

It may be noted that MC members are elected from different boards and authorities, including the Academic Council.

A total of two posts of MC members who were from AC were fell vacant recently.

The nomination papers filling process was completed for the two posts on January 30 and elections will be held on February 12.

The main eligibility was that candidate should be elected member on Academic Council than nominated to file nomination paper for MC member’s post.

Only one nomination was filed in women’s category while six candidates submitted nominations in teachers (male) category.

A total of five nomination papers were declared invalid in men’s category. Thus, there was one nomination in each category.

Dr Pratibha Ahire is the lone candidate in women’s category. Dr Vilas Khandare’s nomination was declared valid in another group during the scrutiny. The last date of submission of the objection is February 4 while the administration will take a final decision on the objection on February 5. The announcement victory of Dr Pratibha and Dr Vilas is just a formality now.
