Aurangabad, May 27:
The divisional commissioner Sunil Kendrekar today has issued an order to all the district collectors, chief executive officers, municipal commissioners, chief conservators of forests, and others to undertake a mega sapling plantation drive in each village, town, and city of Marathwada, to mark the World Environment Day on June 5. The participation of people's representatives and the citizens will also be attracted to implement the task.
Meanwhile, Kendrekar has appealed to all individuals to plant saplings in any available open spaces, farms, dividers on road, on the banks of nullahs, rivers, and canals as it is need of the hour.
