Aurangabad, Jan 28:

Chancellor of MGM University Ankushrao Kadam announced that the university would launch a Folk Literature and Folk Arts Akadami from new academic year to preserve fork arts and legacy.

He was speaking in a meeting of researchers, scholars of folk arts and literature organised on Wednesday.

Folk Art scholar Dr Prakash Khandge, Lok Kala Akademi of University of Mumbai Dr Ganesh Chandanshive, MGM Trustee Prataprao Borade, vice-chancellor Dr Sudhir Gavhane, registrar Dr Ashish Gadekar, Bharud Ratna Niranjan Bhakre, veteran Ambadas Tavre and Dr Sheshrao Pathade, Ajinkya Lingayat, Dilip Khanderai, scholar Dr Taslim Patel and Rajlaxmi Bhosale were present. Ankushrao Kadam said that the State has a separate folk art and rich legacy.

Dr Khandge said that MGM University and West Zone Cultural Centre would host ‘Marathwada Folk Art Festival’.
