Aurangabad, Dec 13:

Gangapur Police exhumed the dead body of 29-year-old man Ganesh Damodhar Misal (Amalner) on Saturday night after 14 months of missing complaint.

According to details, Ganesh Misal was missing since October 5, 2019. His family had lodged a complaint with Gangapur Police Station on October 10, 2019. The investigation was underway for the past one year.

Police took Sachin Dnyaneshwar Pandit and Ravindra alias Pappu Karbhari Butte (Amalner, Gangapur). Sachin Pandit had an illicit relationship with a woman in the village. Ganesh was blackmailing Sachin to bring the illegal relation to light.

The accused Sachin and Ravindra hatched a conspiracy. They kidnapped him and strangled him to death. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused buried the body in a farm of Pandurang Gade at Amalner Shivar to destroy the evidence. Police called nayab tehsil S N Shinde to exhume the dead body of Ganesh.

With the help of JCB, the farm was dug for three feet and exhumed his body from the farm. Police registered a case of kidnapping and murder against Sachin Pandit and Ravindra Butte. Police inspector Machhindra Survase, assistant police inspector Prahlad Munde, PSI Ramhari Chate, and others participated in the action.

Medical officer of Bhendala Primary Health Centre Dr Suryakant Narwade carried out the higher level examination at 11 pm on Saturday. The body was handed over to Ganesh’s family members.

Police produced the accused in the court on Sunday and they were remanded in police custody remand for four days. Superintendent of police Mokshada Patil announced a cash prize of Rs 15,000 to the probe team.
