Mission Bicycle: Civic chief contributes in marking of cycle track on Model Road

Aurangabad, Nov 3:

Mission Bicycle seems to be gearing up in the city. To encourage people to ride bicycles and develop pollution-free environment under the Smart City Mission, the municipal commissioner and administrator of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) A K Pandey today reached Osmanpura Circle and helped the volunteers in marking of bicycle track on Model Road extending from Kranti Chowk to Railway Station. He also obtained details of the work to be done under programme ''Cycle4Change.''

The administrator also informed the zonal officers to alert all shops, private and government offices and other establishments situated on the road not to park their vehicles on the cycle track. Pandey also informed zonal officers to ensure that the dedicated way is free from hawkers or street vendors. The civic chief also appealed to the citizens to help AMC by not throwing litter on the track clean and not to park their vehicles on it.

Bicyclist Nitin Ghorpade is doing the marking. He is performing the task voluntarily. Earlier, he had painted the track from Kranti Chowk to Osmanpura Circle, and today the work extended till Railway Station. Ghorpade is also a member of the executive body of programme Cycle4Change.
