Aurangabad, July 1:

‘Team Sentinels’ of MIT developed an eco-friendly PPE kit disinfectant.

The Innovation Facilitation Cell of the Marathwada Association of Small-Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA) and the Ready Engineer Program of Tata Technology recently organised the “Covid-19 Innovation Ideathon” competition.

MIT’s Team Sentinels had three students-Rahul Srivastava (team leader), Vikaspuri Goswami and Sapna Gunavat (members), developed an eco-friendly PPE kit disinfectant. The team members said that PPE kits were in high demand during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There was a huge problem of biomedical disposal. This machine disinfects 3 PPE kits by hitting them with intense UV rays in 5 minutes. It will reduce the cost of making new PPE kits by 66 pc,” they said.

The team also filed a patent. The head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr Ashok Keche, guided the participants. The patent was published in the Patent Journal on May 28 2021.

President of GS Mandal Dr Y A Kawade, director General of MIT Group of Institutions Prof Munish Sharma, principal Dr Santosh Bhosle and teachers congratulated the team members.
