Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The 24th convocation ceremony of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) will be hosted at noon on February 24.

Chancellor of the university and Governor C P Radhakrishnan will preside over the function. Pro-Chancellor of the University and Minister of Medical Education Hasan Mushrif will be the chief guests while chairman of the National Medical Commission, Dr B N Gangadhar will be the guest of honour. MUHS Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd.) Pro-VC Dr Milind Nikumbh will also remain present.

The convocation ceremony will be webcast live on the social media channel (https://youtube.com/live/h7bry9NNwNw?feature=share)

A total of 8,547 candidates of undergraduate, diploma, and postgraduate degree courses will be awarded degrees.

A total of 111 students who have achieved excellence in various faculties will be presented with 139 gold medals, one student will be awarded a cash prize and 15 students who have completed their research will be awarded Ph D degrees.

The course-wise number of candidates to get the degree are as follows; faculty of Modern Medicine (391) Faculty of Dentistry (1816), 687 from the Faculty of Ayurveda, 49 from the Faculty of Unani, 1455 from the Faculty of Homeopathy, 468 from the Basic B Sc-Nursing, 636 from the Faculty of P B Sc Nursing, 370 from the Faculty of B P T H, 517 from the Faculty of Paramedical, 517 from the Degree in Optometry, 10 from the Diploma in Optometry and 21 from the Degree in Occupational Therapy.
