Mukundwadi police or mockery police?

Despite Subodh Dehade suffering a head injury, six stitches, and a fractured arm, Mukundwadi Police filed mild charges while just across town, Pundliknagar Police booked a similar case as attempt to murder.

The assault took place at 9.30 pm on April 5 near Pilot Babanagar. Dehade (24), a private employee, was on his way to Jai Bhavaninagar when Atul Bankar, Vilas Mule, and an accomplice stopped him, abused him, and attacked him with a knife and wooden stick. They claimed to be “dons” of the area. Dehade was rushed to a private hospital by a friend. While Pundaliknagar Police registered an attempted murder case in a similar incident at Gajanan Maharaj temple Chowk where a youth was stabbed with a small knife the Mukundwadi Police applied only minor sections in Dehade’s case. This selective action raises serious questions about the conduct and accountability of the Mukundwadi Police.
