National Conference on Biotechnology & Forensic Science held at GIS

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Government Institute of Science and the Government Institute of Forensic Science jointly organised a National Conference on “Recent Advances in Biotechnology in the Subjects of Health, Agriculture, Environment and Forensic Science” recently.

Dr Rajendra Satpute, Director of the Institute, chaired the programme. Researchers, teachers and students from various universities and institutes across the country participated in this conference.

Dr Anjanabh Bhattacharya (Senior Scientist, Mahyco Seeds, Jalna) guided on “Harnessing Induced Mutagenesis for Next-Generation Crop Improvement.” He also discussed how artificial intelligence can be utilised to mitigate farmers’ losses due to climatic conditions and develop more productive crops.

Dr Khushbu Bhurat (founder of KB-IP Services) gave a lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights as an Asset Generating Tool in Biotechnology and Allied Fields.”

Narendra Gosavi (Deputy Director, Government Forensic Science Laboratory) highlighted the growing importance of biotechnology in the field of forensic science. Dr Mayawati Patil, Dr Anjali Naik, Dr Pooja Sonawane and others also graced the event.
