Aurangabad, April 5: District collector Sunil Chavan on late Monday night said that there would be no total lockdown in the district.

Chavan said at a hurriedly convened Press conference that the Break the Chain initiative of the state government would be implemented and also announced what activities will be allowed and which will not be.

Essential services to remain open

Accordingly, essential services like hospitals, medical shops, grocery shops, vegetable shops, bakery, sweet marts, milk and other dairy product selling establishments will remain open. Public transport like autorickshaws, railways, buses (both private and MSRTC) and trucks, pre-monsoon works, agriculture activities, media, newspapers printing, government offices, electricity, telephone, banks, private travel services and ticket booking offices will remain open. Visitors will not be allowed to go inside the government offices.

Restrictions on marriages

Collector said that 50 persons for marriage will be allowed but the list of the persons attending the nuptials will have to be given to the administration in advance. For funerals, only 20 persons will be allowed with names provided in advance.

Manufacturing industries to function

All manufacturing industries will be allowed to work. The establishments having more than 500 workers will have to make isolation arrangements and give paid leaves to the works, if they are infected with coronavirus. The construction sites too have been allowed to work. However, the residential arrangements of the workers should be made at the site. E-commerce, petrol pumps services can operate from 7 am to 8 pm, cargo, security, food services and offices of lawyers also have been allowed to work. Resident deputy collector Sanjay Jadhavar also was present in the conference.
