Police have launched action under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) against notorious drug trafficker Ajay Wahul, also known as Thakur, and his gang members, confirmed Crime Branch Inspector Sandeep Gurme .
On February 3rd, the Narcotics Control Team, led by PI Geeta Bagwade, raided the residence of notorious drug trafficker Ajay Wahul (Thakur) in the Satara area. During the raid, Ajay Wahul and his wife Rani were found in possession of drugs, which they were selling. Over Rs. 1.05 lakh worth of drugs were seized from their home. The drugs were reportedly brought from a person named Ayesha in Gujarat informed by the police. A case has been registered at Satara Police Station. Ajay Wahul had previously faced action under MCOCA in 2015 to curb his criminal activities, and in 2023, he was detained under the MPDA Act for a year. Despite these measures, his illegal activities persisted, leading to the latest MCOCA action against him and his gang members. API Ranjit Patil is overseeing the investigation.
