Police commissionerate has launched the campaign “one camera for the city for everyone’s safety” to strengthen urban security.

Citizens, traders, schools, colleges, NGOs, housing societies and institutions have been urged to participate actively. Police stated CCTV cameras are vital for crime prevention, investigation and maintaining law and order. Under “Your Camera, Everyone’s Security,” at least one CCTV camera at homes, shops, offices and other establishments should face public roads and remain operational 24x7 with proper coverage of streets and junction. Existing cameras not facing public areas should be redirected accordingly. Citizens are also requested to register CCTV systems at nearby police stations. Police commissioner Pravin Pawar has appealed for full public cooperation in the initiative.
