Aurangabad, July 17:

Marathi Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) organised

an online programme ‘Pachola Survana Mahotsav’ on Saturday to celebrate 50 years of releasing a novel titled ‘Pachola’ written by Principal R R Borade.

Speaking in the programme, Principal R R Borade said, “Completion of 50 years of releasing a book is not a new thing. It is a matter of satisfaction for an author when that book is read continuously for 50 years.

Principal Borade who is an alumnus of the Marathi Department, wrote the novel 50 years ago.

Nandkumar More and Dr Dutta Gholap, Dr Nandkumar More, Dr Dasu Vaidya, coordinator Dr Kailas Ambhure were present. He was also felicitated.

A total of 11 editions of the novel were published so far. “One edition was published in each decade, which a matter of joy for me,” he added. Dr Gholap and Dr More said that the novel has a story of a family from Marathwada in the local dialect. Ramprasad Waval conducted the proceedings while Dr Ambhure proposed a vote of thanks. Literature lovers, teachers and students participated in it.
