Private hospital returns ventilators

Aurangabad, May 20:

A private hospital returned two faulty ventilators to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) received under the PM Cares Fund on Thursday. While the remaining three ventilators will also be returned on Friday.

The condition of the ventilator received from the PM Cares Fund was brought to the fore by Lokmat Times. Of the 150 received under the PM Cares Fund received by GMCH, 41 ventilators have been donated to five private hospitals in the city. Even after 22 days of taking the ventilator, the private hospitals have not used the ventilators. Two days ago, another expert from the company arrived in the city from Rajkot to inspect, repair and upgrade the ventilators. The four-member team is trying to repair and operate the ventilators. But no ventilator has been used in the GMCH. The team is now visiting private hospitals. Five ventilators were delivered to United CIIGMA hospital on April 27. These ventilators were kept on standby. Two of these ventilators were returned to the GMCH by the hospital on Thursday. The remaining three ventilators were said to be returned on Friday. GMCH administration has taken precautions while retrieving the ventilator. A written report is being taken as to why the ventilator is being returned. However GMCH administration has expressed inability to give reasons given by private hospitals. But according to reliable sources, the hospital stated that the ventilator was not functional.
