Aurangabad, Dec 11:

The activists of the Prahar Janshakti Party concluded their agitation after 30 hours demanding an public apology from the union minister Raosaheb Danve, who had hurled insults at the farmers. The activists also demanded to accept the demands of the agitating farmers. Since the beginning of the agitation, the police administration and fire brigade personnel breathed a sigh of relief.

In a meeting held at the collectorate in the evening, guardian minister Subhash Desai promised to file a case against Danve and hold a separate meeting for other demands, said agitator Sudhakar Shinde. He said that the agitation was suspended after getting an assurance. union minister Danve had said that China and Pakistan were behind the agitation in Delhi. Protesting against the statement, about 30 activists of Prahar had started agitation on Shivajinagar overhead water tank on Thursday afternoon demanding a public apology from Danve. One of the protesters tried to set himself on fire by pouring kerosene on his body to draw the attention of the administration. The protesters also burnt two effigies of Danve on the water tank. Even in the cold, these activists stayed on the water tank. Police inspector Santosh Patil, assistant PI Shraddha Vaidande, PSI Bharat Pachole, firefighters Vijay Rathod, A Bhagat and others were present.

Talks with guardian minister

Tehsildar Datta Bharaskar arrived at the protest site on Friday afternoon. He spoke to the protesters over the phone and requested them to end the protest. The protesters demanded a meeting with the guardian minister. Tehsildar Bharaskar and PI Santosh Patil said that our seniors had to talk to the guardian minister and the district collector.
