Two fraudsters swapped an ATM card and withdrew Rs 37,000 from a retired officer’s bank account near the Collector’s Office. The City Chowk Police registered a case after the victim realized the fraud on Wednesday.

Salim Bashiruddin (65, Bhadkal Gate), a retired Senior Medical Officer from Zilla Parishad's Primary Health Center, visited the SBI ATM to withdraw cash. Two unidentified men approached him, pretended to assist, took his ATM card, asked for his PIN, and faked the transaction. They then handed him a different card and left. Upon reaching home, Salim received messages of multiple withdrawals totaling Rs 37,000. Checking his card, he found it belonged to someone else Dilipkumar Kenekar. API Dilip Chandan is investigating the case.
