Rs 5.5 lakh fraud on pretext of supplying condom packaging machine

A Waluj MIDC-based company was allegedly cheated of Rs 5.5 lakh after two Ahmedabad businessmen promised to supply a condom packaging machine but failed to deliver it.

MIDC Waluj police have registered a case against Aditya Panchal and Nitin Panchal, directors of Krishnam Pharma Machinery Company, Ahmedabad. Complainant Sachin Kulkarni, general manager of Universal Prophylactic Pvt. Ltd., said the company contacted the Ahmedabad firm while searching for new machinery. The accused sent company details via email on September 9, 2024, and Aditya Panchal visited the Waluj unit twice before August 2025 to explain the machines. The firm agreed to buy a fully automatic KPM ALU-ALU blister packaging machine and a KPM defoiling machine. A quotation of Rs 11.5 lakh was later negotiated to Rs 11 lakh, while the defoiling machine was priced at Rs 75,000. After a purchase order on August 6, the accused sought an advance and promised delivery within 45 days. The company transferred Rs 5.5 lakh via RTGS, but the machines were never delivered. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
