Chhatrapati Sambhajiangar: Deep resentment has spread among teachers due to delays by the Panchayat Samiti (PS)'s finance department in processing medical reimbursement bills of teachers of the tehsil.
Teachers suffering from various serious illnesses paid for their own treatment in 2025–26, out of pocket and after completed the entire medical reimbursement process as per government rules, submitting their bills to the ZP Finance Department.
The concerned teachers had submitted their bills after fulfilling all required documentation with the approval of the Civil Hospital and Civil Surgeon. The proposal were then forwarded to the PS level after receiving approval from the ZP finance department, the Education Officer, and the Chief Executive Officer. The ZP’s finance department on April 5 transferred a total of 70 lakh to the bank account of the Bloc Development Officer, PS of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, earmarked for teachers' medical reimbursements.

Warning of Agitation
As per the rules, the PS's finance department was expected to verify the relevant bills and credit the amount to the teachers' accounts within eight days. However, even after more than a month has passed, not a single teacher's account has received the payment.
The Shikshak Samiti has drawn the administration's attention to the matter and expressed strong displeasure. It has warned that if the medical reimbursement amounts are not credited to the accounts within the next eight days, an intense agitation will be launched in front of the PS office.
