Security guard, waiter assaulted over public urination dispute; chaos erupts at police station

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A minor altercation over public urination escalated into violence outside a hotel, leaving a security guard and a waiter injured. The incident occurred around 11 pm on Friday in front of Kale Bandhu Hotel, Chikalthana, when a group of men attacked the staff for objecting to their actions. The situation further spiraled out of control when the accused created chaos at the police station, attempting self-harm.

Hotel staff attacked for objecting

The accused have been identified as Anil Ganpat Ingole, Rajesh Shivaji Mhaske, Rameshwar Dattu Giri, and Krishna Ramdev Dinde, all residents of Savitri Nagar, Chikalthana. According to eyewitnesses, waiter Machhindra Kharate (31) saw the group urinating in the parking area despite the presence of women. Upon receiving complaints, security guard Gangadhar Jadhav intervened and requested them to stop.

Instead of complying, the men turned aggressive and assaulted Jadhav. When Kharate rushed to his aid, they pelted stones at him. Passersby stepped in and managed to catch Ingole and Mhaske, handing them over to the police.

Ruckus at police station

The unrest continued at the Chikalthana police station, where Ingole and Mhaske, reportedly intoxicated, caused a commotion. Shortly after, Dinde arrived and aggressively demanded their release. His behavior escalated as he tried to resist the officers' attempts to pacify him. In a shocking turn, he grabbed a steel water bottle from a table and attempted to smash his own head. As he was escorted out, he deliberately banged his head against a glass door, sustaining injuries.

Legal action initiated

The police have booked the accused under multiple charges, including assaulting hotel staff and disrupting public order at the police station. Investigations are ongoing to determine further legal proceedings. The incident has sparked concerns over public nuisance and the safety of hospitality workers dealing with unruly customers.
