Senior bureaucrat Harsha Deshmukh passes away

Deputy Commissioner of the Women and Child Development Department Harsha Dinkarrao Deshmukh (58), passed away on Thursday morning after a prolonged illness. Her funeral will be held on March 21 at 10 am at Pratapnagar Crematorium, Darga Road, with the procession starting from her residence at August Homes, Ulkanagari.
A dedicated public servant, Deshmukh played a pivotal role in child welfare and social development. She held key positions, including Warden in the Social Welfare Department, Integrated Child Development Officer, and District Women and Child Development Officer. Her efforts were recently recognized when she received the Outstanding Women and Child Development Deputy Commissioner award under the Child-Friendly Awards category from the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. She is survived by her son, daughter, and three sisters.
