Aurangabad, April 18 :

Like other old age homes, senior citizens are feeling loneliness at Muktisopan Nyas Vrudhaashram because of a ban on the entry of outsider in the COVID situation.

Director of Muktisopan Nyas Vrudhashram Malti Karandikar said that some people used to visit the old age home to implement social initiative or present an art or ‘Bhajan’ before COVID 19 spread.

She said that many patrons were invited affectionately here to have a meal and an interaction with senior citizens.

“There were some regular visitors. The ratio of college youths was also good among them. Senior citizens always felt their presence and affection of visitors and would not remember their family members. There are 28 senior citizens, including four male, in the old age,” she said.

There is a big challenge before the old age home management about the safety of senior citizens in pandemic virus situation.

There is a ban on the entry of outsider at Muktisopan Nyas Vrudhashram to contain the spread of COVID 19 while relatives can contact them on the phone only.

Malti Karandikar said the support to us from generous has not affected even in COVID lockdown.

“In fact, we are getting more help in a pandemic situation. People ask if we need anything or senior citizens need something,” she said.

Some senior citizens said that they remember to regular visitors who cannot visit the old age home because of COVID 19.

“We spend our time by watching TV, singing ‘Bhajan’ and holding discussions, reading books. Sometimes we feel bore, otherwise, our daily routine is perfect,” they added.
