Aurangabad, March 2:
The sensation prevailed after the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) today has published an advertisement for the appointment of a chief executive officer (CEO). Besides, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) claimed that the advertisement is published with the consent of the Urban Development Department (UDD)!
Meanwhile, the development raises the eyebrows of the citizens as the CEO, Babasaheb Manohare, who was transferred by the UDD, had already joined the ASCDCL during the last month. The last date to submit the application is March 8, 2021.
It may be noted that the AMC municipal commissioner was handling the additional charge of the CEO. Later on, the UDD issued a transfer order of Manohare on February 1, and he took over the office during the last week of February. 2021. After taking over the charge, he announced conducting an inquiry into the display of flex boards reading 'Super Sambhajinagar' and conducting an audit of expenses made on works done under Smart City Mission.
Administrator clarified
The AMC administrator A K Pandey said, " The advertisement is published with the permission of UDD. As per the guidelines of the Smart City Mission and UDD, the ASCDCL-CEO is the subordinate of the AMC commissioner or administrator. The recruitment will be done after conducting interviews, and the appointment will be made with the consent of ASCDCL's board of directors (BoDs) and then sent to the UDD for the final approval."
Internal audit already done
In response to a question, Pandey said, " I had already sent a letter to the office of the Accountant General (AG, Nagpur) stating to conduct the audit of works done by ASCDCL in the past years. We had also intimated that the internal audit had been completed and now waiting for their audit."
