Shendra (Auric) to get medical college, hospital, skill centre

The rapidly developing Shendra DMIC (Auric) region is set to receive a major boost to its healthcare and skill ecosystem, with an application initiated for a medical college, a medical hospital, and a skill development centre marking a first for the industrial hub.

With large-scale investments flowing into the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, including those announced at the World Economic Forum, Shendra (Auric) is strengthening its social infrastructure alongside industrial growth. MGM University has proposed a world-class hospital, a medical college, and a dedicated skill development centre as part of its expansion plan in the area. The proposed hospital will be developed near the Samruddhi Highway nodes. MGM has acquired approximately 35 acres of land in Shendra (Auric), which received sanction around six months ago. Alongside healthcare facilities, a specialised skill development centre is also planned as a key innovation initiative, MIDC officials said. City is fast emerging as an EV and industrial hub, with major investments reshaping the city’s growth trajectory. Companies such as Toyota are expected to set up their own skill development centres, while industry associations are likely to roll out sector-specific initiatives, further strengthening the region’s industrial ecosystem.

Skill development hub in the making

Shendra (Auric) already houses an operational MIDC Skill Development Centre. Several projects are in the pipeline, including the Findability Sciences AI Innovation Lab (to be announced), the MGM Skill Development Centre (area to be finalised), and a joint DPIIT–CII skill development facility spanning 20,000 sq ft. Two additional skill development centres have also been proposed.
