Six in-laws acquitted in murder case

In a case concerning the death of a married woman, the bench acquitted six individuals.

In the case of Aishwarya Sasane, accused of physically and mentally harassing her, her husband Parameshwar and mother-in-law Kusum were primarily implicated. The remaining six relatives faced general allegations of demanding money from the deceased, causing her mental and physical harassment, and potentially being involved in her death. However, no concrete evidence was submitted against them. Observing this, Justice Abhay S. Waghvase of the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court acquitted the six in-laws, excluding the husband and mother-in-law. The acquitted individuals are Chhagan Sasane, Shivaji Sasane, Alka Waghmare, Murlidhar Waghmare, Sangita Sarode, and Avinash Sarode. A case had been registered against them under BNS Sections 498(A), 302, and other relevant sections at Patoda Police Station in Beed district, and a trial had been underway in the Sessions Court.

What Happened?

According to the deceased Aishwarya, her husband Parameshwar harassed her to bring Rs 4 lakh from her parental home to buy a car. The mother-in-law allegedly caused her unnatural death by poisoning her. However, no solid evidence was submitted against the remaining six relatives. They had filed a revision petition through Advocate Angad Kanade (Bhatsangvikar) to the bench, presenting these facts, leading to their acquittal.
