Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “Just like salt adds flavour to food and vegetables. Similarly, statistics is important in studies and research. Therefore, basic statistics will have demand and opportunities in the future as well. Students and researchers should be prepared for this,” said Dr Vishnu Bajaj, the former head of the Department of Statistics of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu).

He was speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the six-day workshop on Advanced Statistical Data Analysis Using Software’ held under PM Usha at the Department of Statistics of Bamu.

PM Usha Co-Coordinator director Dr Pravin Yennavar was present. Dr Sunil Kawale, Dr Omprakash Jadhav, Dr C D Sonar, Dr A Y Tayde were prominently present on the dais. In the presidential address, Dr Yennawar said that skill development is being done among 8,000 students under PM-USHA. He said that AI has become more buzzing due to statistics. The workshop, which was inaugurated on Monday provided information on the use of various software and statistical analysis in 19 sessions.
