Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The 13th edition of the prestigious ‘Lokmat Sur Jyotsna National Music Awards’, regarded as a mark of honour in the field of Indian music, will be held in the city with great grandeur on Sunday, April 12. The melodious event will take place at ‘Lokmat Lawns’ at Lokmat Bhavan on Jalna Road from 6 pm onwards.
This year’s highlight is the felicitation of renowned pakhawaj player Pandit Uddhav Bapu Apegaonkar and eminent Hindustani classical vocalist and composer Pandit Raja Kale for their outstanding contribution to Indian classical music. The ‘Sur Jyotsna’ platform was established to provide opportunities to emerging artists, and many have benefited from it.
Musical performances to enthral audience: Along with the awards ceremony, the audience will also enjoy a rich musical experience. Renowned singer Nitin Mukesh will add charm to the evening with his melodious voice. Additionally, 2022 Sur Jyotsna awardee Mehtab Ali Niazi will present a special sitar recital.
The event is free for music lovers. Citizens have been urged to attend and celebrate India’s rich cultural and musical heritage.

Free entry passes will be available for all music lovers and readers from April 3, 2026, at Lokmat Bhavan, Jalna Road, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm. Passes are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
