Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Schools across the State are scheduled to have summer vacations from May 2 to June 14. However, during this same period, teachers will be required to carry out census work from May 16 to June 14.

Teachers from Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools, private aided and Municipal Corporation schools will be assigned this responsibility. More than 5,000 ZP teachers alone will be deployed for census work. Teachers have been ordered not to leave their headquarters during the summer vacation period.

Summer vacations for schools in the district have been declared from May 2 to June 14, as is the case every year. For the past two years, teachers have had to perform Lok Sabha and State Assembly election duties even during their vacation periods. Now, census work has begun this year.

Census work has already commenced and teacher training for the same has begun. Orders have been issued through the Census Cell under the supervision of the District Collector.

Teachers from local self-government and private school institutions had already planned their summer vacations, with many having scheduled trips. Teachers have been ordered not to leave the district headquarters due to census work, making it clear there will be no escape from these duties.
