Aurangabad, Nov 3:

The Assistant professors who were working on a temporary basis in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) went on leave en masse on Tuesday for their different demands including demanding regularisation of service, pay scale as per the recommendations of Seventh Pay Commission.

This affected regular patients service a bit today. Senior doctors had to rush to treat the patients. They gathered near the main entrance of the Hospital and also raised slogans.

A total of 40 assistant professors have working on a temporary basis for the past many years. They worked day and night in Novel coronavirus situation.

They were demanding regularisation of the service for a long time, but, it is being ignored. They went on leave in en masse.

The Maharashtra State Medical Teachers Association has supported the agitation of temporary teachers agitation.

The agitators submitted the memorandum to the Association’s executive president Dr Bharat Sonawne to pursue the matter with the State Government.

Their other demands included regularisation of service without any terms and condition, providing an additional allowance for service in COVID situation, the appointment should be given for 120 days instead of 30 days.
