Aurangabad, July 16:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University standing committee has announced the election program for filling vacant posts of various monitoring boards and there are indications that there will be a tough fight.

Elections for various posts of monitoring boards in the university were held in June 2019. Meanwhile, several posts were lying vacant as the members retired. As it is not appropriate to leave the posts vacant, the vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole started the selection program for these posts. The posts of senate members will be filled in the three categories of principal, university professor (woman) and non-teaching staff. A front has been formed in the university to occupy these posts. Apart from this, 70 members from various study boards will also be selected through the standing committee. The selection process was announced on July 13. This process will be implemented from July 16 to August 21. On August 21, the pro-vice chancellor Dr Shyam Shirsath will chair a meeting to select the members.

Seats are vacant

Vacancies in the board of studies include chairman, head of departments in affiliated colleges, university professors, postgraduate professors, HoDs of non-affiliated colleges, professors from other universities, experts from industry or national laboratories, eminent scholars and industry individuals in this category will be selected.
