Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A team of 10 trainee IAS officers is on a three-day visit to the historic city as part of their Bharat Darshan (Winter Study Tour) programme.

The team arrived from Mumbai and is scheduled to proceed to Delhi after completing its city tour.

During their visit, the officers spent nearly an hour at Kham Eco Park in the evening, where they reviewed the Kham River Rejuvenation Project. Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Asadullah Khan briefed them on the mission, explaining the condition of the river prior to the project, the improvements achieved so far, and the future action plan. The trainees appreciated the efforts undertaken by the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC), along with public participation and support, in successfully implementing the eco-restoration initiative.

Earlier in the day, the team, accompanied by CSMC nodal officer Noman Khan, visited the Smart City headquarters and reviewed a presentation on various development projects implemented under the Smart City Mission.

The officers are also scheduled to visit the Maharashtra State Board of Wakfs (MSBW) headquarters at the Panchakki campus, as well as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ellora and Ajanta caves on Friday and Saturday, it is learnt.
