Transformer replacement at Cantonment substation completed within 10 hours
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
A 5 MVA power transformer at Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) Cantonment substation, operational since 1995, had developed faults and required urgent attention to prevent disruption in power supply. Acting swiftly, MSEDCL installed a new transformer on Saturday and sent the old one for repairs.
Despite space constraints at the site, teams from the testing unit, substation staff from the divisional office, and contractor personnel completed the work within 10 hours, restoring normal electricity supply in the area. The work was carried out under the guidance of chief engineer Pavan Kumar Kachhot, superintending engineer Manish Thakre and executive engineer Prasad Mahatole.
Cable burst at 132 kV Chikalthana substation
A cable burst occurred at Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) 132 kV Chikalthana substation at 3:14 pm on Saturday, disrupting power supply to MSEDCL’s Sutgirni, Shivajinagar, MHADA, N-4, N-7, STPI and Bedse substations. Power supply to five substations was restored within 19 minutes. Supply to MHADA resumed at 4 pm and STPI at 4:30 pm.
Except for this and the Cantonment substation work, power supply disrupted for pre-monsoon maintenance was restored as scheduled, MSEDCL officials said.
