Aurangabad, Dec 12

Unidentified thieves looted a truck driver and fled away with cash Rs 27,600 from his possession, recently. The incident took place when the truck was parked at a petrol pump, opposite to the South City in Waluj Mahanagar, early morning.

The victim Pallvinder Charan Singh Tattle (46, a resident of Shrirampur) is the owner and driver of the truck. On December 8, he was returning home from Chattisgarh. On Wednesday midnight, he parked his vehicle near the petrol pump and went to sleep. On Thursday at 5.20 am, three accused, riding motorcycles and moped, entered his truck and started beating him. They forcibly whisked away cash Rs 27,600 from his pocket. Meanwhile, Pallvinder succeeded in noting down the number of one moped (MH-20-AX-7771) and informed the Waluj MIDC police.

The cops arrived at the spot, searched for the accused, but was in vain. Later, they called the truck driver to the police station to lodge a complaint. As a result, when Pallvinder was going in Ape Rickshaw (MH-20-EF-4318) towards the police station, at 7 am, the accused, who looted him, stopped the auto at Tiranga Chowk (in Pandharpur), and insisted him not to lodge the complaint. They assured him of returning the money. They tried their best to stop him from going towards the police station, but Pallvinder managed to free himself and lodged the complaint.
