Two persons Naresh Pakhare and Jaikishan Kamble tried to commit suicide in connection with an ongoing illegal construction at Kalda Corner, on the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation  campus today at 12 noon. City Chowk police arrested them and further process to register a complaint is underway. Pakhare climbed the terrace of the two-storey building and tried to jump. Kamble tried to self-immolate by pouring kerosene.

The agitators demanded action against additional commissioner Ravindra Nikam for allegedly encouraging the land owner for continuing the illegal construction. They also said that the municipal administrator had ordered Nikam to stop the work, but he hadn't taken any action.Pakhare and Kamble claimed that they are pursuing the matter for the past 3 years. A case is also sub judice.
