Three youths lost their lives and three others sustained serious injuries in two separate road accidents in Sillod taluka on Friday night and Saturday evening.

Bike crash near Jambhai

Around 1 am on Friday, four youths from Amthana were returning from the Tukai Devi fair in Jambhai when their bike crashed into an RO plant wall. Two of them Akash Wagh (19, from Pimpalgaon Ghat, residing in Amthana, Silod tehsil) and Vishal Gayasamindre (24, Amthana, Sillod tehsil) died on the spot. The other two, Ritesh Salve (18) and Aniket Jagtap (16), sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment.

All four had visited the fair together. Locals rushed them to Sillod Rural Hospital, where Akash and Vishal were declared dead. Their cremation was held in Amthana on Saturday. Akash, an orphan, was raised by his aunt Rekha Kharat. Vishal is survived by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Car hits bike near Bankinhola

In another accident around 4 pm on Saturday near Bankinhola squae, a speeding car (MH-19-CY-1534) rammed into a bike (MH-20-DX-7062) from behind. Lav Tathe (38) of Gevrai severly injured on the spot, while his co-rider, Murlidhar Tathe (48), suffered serious injuries. They were heading towards Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar when the accident occurred. Murlidhar was admitted to the district hospital. Both cases have been registered at the respective police stations, and investigations are underway.
