Ventilators recd from PM Care Fund not functional; pvt hospital in trouble

Aurangabad, May 17:

A total of four private hospitals from the city received 31 ventilators under PM Care Fund. However, not a single ventilator is functional in hospitals.

The administration of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) said that they received information from private hospitals about the condition of the ventilators.

It was expected that more and more patients would be benefited after making ventilators available at private hospitals. The private hospitals had to do a lot of correspondence to get them operational. The city got was 31 ventilators while the other four districts received 55 ventilators.

The GMCH was allotted 64 ventilators and out of them, 47 are still in boxes while 17 ventilators were repaired by the manufacturing company’s engineers.

“We will receive written report from the private hospitals about ventilators which are not functional,” the GMCH administration said. The private hospitals are in trouble over taking a stand on ventilators which received from the Central Government.
