Chhatrapati Sambhajiangar: In the backdrop of the ongoing board examinations of classes SSC and HSC, the Secondary Education Department has taken an important step to ensure greater transparency and discipline in the examination process. The entire process is being filmed by visiting an average of six to seven examination centres every day across the district.

Under this initiative, frisking students at the entrance and verification of hall tickets, identity cards, seating arrangement in the examination room and inspection of CCTV systems are being meticulously conducted. A separate video shooting team, along with vigilance teams, is working to ensure that a disciplined environment is maintained at the examination centres.

Strict precautions are being taken to ensure that no devices are brought in while checking students at the entrance. Continuous monitoring is being done by the invigilators to maintain a copy-free environment in the examination hall and all these processes are being documented in video format.

The Education Department expressed its belief that this initiative would help in increasing transparency in the examination process and would definitely curb malpractices. This has a positive impact on strengthening the sense of discipline and responsibility among the students.

“Video shooting campaign will be implemented in a phased manner at all the examination centres in the district, and this campaign will continue throughout the examination period. The examination is an important step in the life of the students,” said Ashwini Lathkar, Education Officer (Secondary). She clarified that the Secondary Education Department is committed to ensuring that it is conducted in a completely clean, fair and transparent manner.
