Ward boundary dispute leaves residents grappling with dust and potholes

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Amer Colony on Sudhakarnagar Road falls within Ward No. 8 of the municipal corporation, while the opposite side of the area comes under Ward No. 10. Due to this boundary issue, residents of Amer Colony are being deprived of basic civic amenities.

Sudhakarnagar Road is the main access route for local residents. However, work on this road has been stalled for the past six months. Shopkeepers and residents of Amer Colony are forced to endure dust and potholes. The civic staff allegedly avoid cleaning the area, citing ward boundary issues. The colony is also reportedly being excluded from water supply through municipal corporation’s tankers.

The stretch from Sudhakarnagar Chowk to Ganga Godavari Lawns has been concretised. However, the road ahead from Amer Colony towards Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital remains in a poor condition. As the work was left incomplete from Ganga Godavari Lawns onwards, shopkeepers and households along the road are compelled to keep their doors shut due to constant dust. Despite residential areas on both sides, it is unclear why the road has been left half-done.
