Youth commits theft to purchase motorcycle

Aurangabad, Nov 21:

A youth living at a posh locality at N-1 Cidco area committed theft in an open house and stole two gold biscuits weighing 28 grams. This youth, although belonged to a well-to-do family, works as a delivery boy at Prozone Mall.

The accused has been identified as Prathamesh alias Prem Dattaprasad Vyas (20, N-1, Cidco). Police said, a case was registered on Thursday at Pundliknagar police station that a thief stole two gold biscuits weighing 20 grams and 8 grams respectively from an open house at Gajanannagar in Pundliknagar.

Cidco police station team, including PSI Kalyan Shelke, havaldar Narsingh Pawar, Subhash Shewale, Suresh Bhise and Swapnil Ratnaparkhi were patrolling on Saturday. They found Prathamesh under suspicious conditions. When the police asked him to stop, he started fleeing away. The police nabbed him after a chase and during interrogation, he confessed that he stole two gold biscuits from a house and sold it to a jeweler at Mukundwadi for Rs 1.50 lakh. He purchased a motorcycle from this money. The police have seized the gold biscuits from the jeweler.

Accused, Prathamesh is a first-year BBA student, and his father is an industrial supplier. He worked as a Pizza delivery boy to become self-reliant, he informed the police. The police suspect that he might have committed some more thefts from the open houses while working as a delivery boy.
