Zilla Parishad schools to shift to morning session from March 16
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Due to a sharp rise in temperature at the beginning of March, schools run by the Zilla Parishad in the district will operate in the morning session from March 16, informed primary education officer Jayashree Chavan.
There are around 2,080 Zilla Parishad schools in the district with more than 8 lakh students enrolled. However, many of these schools have tin roofs, and the increasing heat has started causing discomfort to students.
Keeping students’ health in mind, the schools will shift to morning hours. At present, schools function from 10 am to 4 pm. The new timing will be either 7 am to 12 noon or 7.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Chavan also said that a proposal regarding this change has been sent to chief executive officer Ankit for approval.
