There is a good news for taxpayers. If you are also worried about the last date for paying taxes, then this news is just for you. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for manually filling up Forms 15CA and 15CB. You can now fill this form by August 15, 2021.

Meanwhile, the previous deadline was July 15, 2021. The deadline has been extended due to difficulties in the portal launched by the Income Tax Department. The new portal of the Income Tax Department was launched on June 7. After that, the taxpayers had to face constant difficulties. As a result, the department decided to extend the deadline.

In a tweet Income Tax India wrote,"CBDT grants further relaxation in electronic filing of forms 15CA & 15CB in view of difficulties reported by taxpayers in filing of the forms online on http://incometax.gov.in. Date for submission of forms in manual format to the authorised dealers is extended to 15th August,2021"

According to the Income Tax Act 1961, Form 15CA / 15CB has to be filed electronically on the Income Tax Portal. Form 15CA helps the income tax department track foreign remittances and their taxability.A person making the remittance (a payment) to a Non Resident or a Foreign Company has to submit the form 15CA. While the Form 15CB is a certificate submitted by the CA stating that the relevant tax agreement and the provisions of the IT Act have been complied with at the time of overseas payment.
