Godawari Power and Ispat Gains Strategic Edge as Subsidiary Secures Key BESS Supply Pact
New Delhi [India], April 23: Shares of Godawari Power and Ispat Limited are expected to remain in focus after the company announced a significant development in its renewable energy expansion strategy, signaling long-term value creation for investors.
The company, through its wholly owned subsidiary Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), has entered into a supply agreement with Shanghai-based Roche Energy for the procurement of Balance of System (BoS) components for a 5 MWh DC block. This forms part of the first phase of its ambitious 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
The agreement ensures a stable, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain for GNEPL, while also guaranteeing consistent product quality—critical factors for scaling battery storage infrastructure. The development marks a major milestone in the company's entry into the fast-growing energy storage segment, aligning with India's clean energy transition goals.
Roche Energy, a China-based firm, specializes in energy storage system design, manufacturing, and lifecycle management, excluding lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. Its expertise in integrated energy storage solutions is expected to strengthen execution capabilities for the project.
From a market perspective, this strategic tie-up enhances visibility on Godawari Power's diversification into green energy, which could act as a potential re-rating trigger for the stock. Investors may closely track further developments, including project execution timelines and capacity expansion updates, as the company builds its footprint in the high-growth BESS sector.
