Reliance to Tata : Corporate companies who donated huge amounts for COVID-19 relief

Reliance Group

The Reliance Industries Limited has announced that it is enhancing its production capacity to manufacture 100,000 face-masks daily and a large number of protective equipment like suits and garments for the country's health workers who are engaged in fighting novel coronavirus. Meanwhile, the Ambani's have also pledged to donate Rs 5 crore to Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. 

Mahindra Group 

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra offered to convert Mahindra Holiday resorts as temporary care facilities. He also said that engineers of  Mahindra will be manufacturing ventilators in its factory considering the shortage of the life support device in the country. This device is an interim lifesaver and the team estimates it will cost below Rs 7,500. 

Adani Group

Billionaire Gautam Adani announced a Rs 100 crore contribution by his group's philanthropy arm to the Prime Minister's Fund to fight coronavirus outbreak.

Wipro Limited

Wipro Ltd, Wipro Enterprises Ltd, and Azim Premji Foundation have pledged Rs 1,125 crore towards the fight against the coronavirus. Of the 1,125 crores, Wipro Ltd's commitment is Rs 100 crore while Wipro Enterprises Ltd donated Rs 25 crore and the Azim Premji Foundation contributed Rs 1,000 crore.

Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kotak Mahindra Bank and its Managing Director Uday Kotak announced a Rs 60-crore donation. The bank will donate Rs 25 crore to PM Cares Fund and Rs 10 crore to Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

The Tata Group

Tata Sons, the holding firm of the Tata group companies, pledged Rs 1,000 crore support towards COVID-19 and related activities over and above Rs 500 crore pledged by Tata Trusts. Tata Sons and Tata Trusts have collectively pledged a total of INR 1,500 crore. Meanwhile, Ratan Tata has pledged Rs 1,500 crore for combating coronavirus pandemic and also extended assistance to the government in their fight against novel Coronavirus. 

Xiaomi India 

Manu Kumar Jain, the Managing Director of Xiaomi India has pledged to donate N95 masks and protective suits to the health care professionals.
