India National Cricket Team: Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been included in India A’s 15-member squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka, scheduled to be played in June 2026. The tournament will feature India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A in a double round-robin format before the top two teams meet in the final on June 21. Tilak Varma will lead the India A side, while Riyan Parag has been named vice-captain.
The call-up continues a remarkable rise for the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi, who has enjoyed a breakout period in domestic and franchise cricket. The youngster first grabbed national attention during the Indian Premier League 2025 after smashing a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans.
He later played a key role in India’s triumph at the Under-19 World Cup earlier this year, producing a sensational 175 in the final against England.
Sooryavanshi has continued his impressive form in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026, scoring 440 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 236.56. His campaign also includes a tournament-leading 40 sixes.
The India A squad also features several standout performers from IPL 2026, including Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Anshul Kamboj and Suryansh Shedge.
The tri-series will begin on June 9 with hosts Sri Lanka A taking on India A. All white-ball matches will be played in Dambulla.
India A will also play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A after the conclusion of the tri-series. The squad for the red-ball fixtures will be announced later, while those matches are scheduled to be held in Galle.
