The win helped Gujarat Titans climb to second place in the IPL 2026 points table with 14 points from 11 matches. GT now have seven victories and four defeats this season and improved their Net Run Rate to 0.228.

Sunrisers Hyderabad continue to hold the top spot in the standings with 14 points as well, but remain ahead of GT due to a superior Net Run Rate of 0.737.

RR, meanwhile, slipped to fifth place after suffering their fifth defeat of the campaign. The Jaipur-based side now have 12 points from 11 matches and their Net Run Rate dropped to 0.082 following the heavy defeat at home.

Batting first after stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal opted to bowl, Gujarat Titans posted a massive total of 229/4 in 20 overs.

Captain Shubman Gill led the charge with a brilliant 84-run knock, while Sai Sudharsan smashed 55 runs during a fiery opening partnership.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals lost wickets regularly despite a quick start from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored 36 off just 16 balls.

GT spinner Rashid Khan dismantled the RR middle order with a four-wicket haul as the hosts were bowled out for 152 runs.

Punjab Kings remain third in the standings with 13 points from 10 matches, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru occupy fourth position with 12 points and the best Net Run Rate among teams on the same points.

Chennai Super Kings are sixth with 10 points, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders in seventh place with nine points.

Delhi Capitals remain eighth with eight points, while Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants continue to occupy the bottom two spots with six points each.

The playoff race remains tightly contested heading into the final phase of the IPL 2026 league stage.
