Former India all-rounder Robin Singh has been named the UAE's new director of cricket replacing Dougie Brown who was at the helm earlier. Brown, who was appointed in 2017 was in charge during a tumultuous last few months when the fixing scandal rocked UAE cricket. Meanwhile, Robin Singh comes on board with a lot of coaching experience as he was part of India U-19 and A teams.
 

Robin was also the coach of Hong Kong,  USA, and was the fielding coach of the Indian team during the inaugural T20 World Cup which India won in 2007. Robin has a lot of experience in franchise cricket as well, having been part of IPL and CPL teams. Singh was also in the fray to be the next coach of India but the BCCI decided to give Shastri an extension.
