The COVID-19 vaccination scam has now hit Bollywood production houses. According to a India Today report, Ramesh Taurani, who heads Tips Industries Ltd had vaccinated  365 of his employees  on May 30 and June 3, but are yet to receive a certificate. Speaking on the issue, the Race 3 producer said,  "Yes, we are still waiting for the certificates and when my office people contacted him (Sanjay Gupta from SP Events), he said it will come by this Saturday (June 12), we got 356 people vaccinated and paid Rs 1,200 per dose plus GST. But more than the money, now we are worried about what was given to us. Is it genuine Covishield or any saline water?" Taurani added, "We were told we would get the vaccination certificate from Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital [in Mumbai]."After the vaccination racket hit a Mumbai society in Kandivali, now, it has come to light that several production houses in Mumbai have also faced a similar situation.

In a similar incident, 150 employees and family members of Matchbox Pictures, for example, were given their first shot of Covisheld on May 29; incidentally, via SP Events, the same group of people who conducted the vaccination drive at Kandivali's Hiranandani Estate Society. The employees at Matchbox Pictures were informed that they would receive their certificates from Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital; however, after weeks of delay, they got a certificate from Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, which showed June 12 as the date the shot was administered. Yesterday, two people were arrested, in connection with the vaccine scene that unfolded in Mumbai's Hiranandani Estate Society after the residents on Tuesday raised suspicion over the Covid vaccine dose that they got at a vaccination camp held at the residential complex on May 30. A police complaint was filed by the residents at Kandivli police station after the resident spotted several irregularities in the entire process. None of them developed any side effect after being administered with the vaccine dose. The hospitals apparently involved — Nanavati Max Super Speciality, Lifeline hospitals and NESCO jumbo centre — denied any role. They also clarified that they did not issue those certificates and NESCO jumbo centre, for instance, is run by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and hence its vaccines are free.
