Noted comedian and actor, Pandu, known for his roles in Tamil films, died at 74 due to COVID-19 complications. Pandu and his wife Kumudha, who had tested positive for Covid-19 recently, were getting treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. His wife continues to be in the ICU.While he debuted in the Tamil film 'Karaiyelllam Shenmabagapoo', he later acted alongside Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith, and many other stars in Tamil cinema. Pandu is well known for his cameo role in Ajith Kumar-starrer 'Kadhal Kottai' and as a police officer in Vijay-starrer 'Ghilli'.
He was last seen in 'Indha Nilai Maarum', which had Ashwin Kumar, Ramkumar and Nivedhithaa Sathish in the lead roles. Pandu was successfully running a company called Capital Letters and beautifully designed nameboards of many leading film personalities' residences and offices. Pandu- Kumudha are parents to three sons- Prabhu, Panchu and Pintu. Apart from his notable performances in films, Pandu is known to have designed the 'Twin Leaves' party logo for the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).In recent times, several celebrities including KV Anand have lost their lives due to COVID,The veteran director passed away due to COVID-19 related ailment only last week.
